Ryan B reads When Satan Comes A-Creeping

Howdy, delinquents!

Witchuary continues with a story from yet another book and host that has never graced this blog before. The Witching Hour was one of many horror anthology titles put out by DC Comics in the 1970's along with others such as The House of Mystery and The House of Secrets.

The book featured three storytelling witches who lived in a spooky castle with their hideous (yet never seen) servant named Egor. This tale from issue #18 is told by Mildred, the plump, middle aged of the three witches and concerns a man, a woman, and of course... Satan.

Wait, so his punishment for killing her cat is that he has to live with an ugly wife? Only in the friggin' 70's. Anyway, I hope you all found that story... whatever. I can't even come up with a proper pun. That tale was so lame it affected my brain. Oh well, they can't all be winners.

See ya next time, gang.

  1. Pretty lame punishment yeah, I guess Harold never heard of plastic surgery.

  2. And it seems to me like Harold's the kind of guy who would be perfectly happy with the wealth and power and not give a crap about his wife. No real irony here.
